Start of the Green Season:
May marks the beginning of Costa Rica’s rainy season (also known as the “green season”). Expect sunny mornings and refreshing afternoon showers. It’s a beautiful time when the landscapes turn lush and vibrant, making it a favorite for photographers and nature lovers.
Mother’s Day (U.S.):
While Costa Rican Mother’s Day is celebrated in August, expat communities often hold Mother’s Day brunches and special events around the U.S. date (Sunday, May 11 this year). Many restaurants in Escazú and Santa Ana offer special brunch menus.
