There are endless amount of waves to surf all year long. World class waves can be found along the coastline that can satisfy any type of surfer from expert to beginner.

Fun facts, Papagayo is a premier location for high-profile people and celebrities from all over the world. Papagayo is nestled in the northern pacific region of Guanacaste, encompassing luxury homes and hotels, 14 unique beaches, macaws, sloths to marine life and a playground of nature for outdoors enthusiasts. Whales pass through this area from July to March. From January to April the mountains, cliffs and hills turn into landscapes of gold. Hence the name “The Gold Coast”. Although the matured trees, the gardens of the resorts and residences remain green. Many trees flower from February to March. Pink, purple, orange and yellow. February and March are actually one of my favorite times of the year to see the landscapes of the flowering trees. From May to December the Papagayo area turns back to “The Emerald Coast” because of the rains. During the rainy season, it usually rains for a few moments to a few hours. People in Costa Rica love the rain because the rains bring cooler temperatures and keep all nature and landscapes green. During the rainy season, most days are sunny with tropical showers. Only October is the month when it rains all day.
Communities of the coast offer plenty of activities to enjoy throughout the year. Besides water activities individuals or families can enjoy golf, cycling, playgrounds, gyms, spas, tennis, crossfit and skateboard parks. For those who enjoy entertainment some beach communities have movie theatres to live music such as Reggae, Spanish or Classic Rock & Roll.
Shopping and dining can be plentiful. Boutique stores or plazas to casual or fine dining boasting a wide-variety of international cuisine or local dishes can be found throughout beach communities.
