Nature, prestige, and a vibrant lifestyle are the elements of Santa Ana real estate. Santa Ana is a smaller suburb just westward of trendy Escazu, nestled in the western valley of San Jose. Many historians believe Santa Ana was home to the first Spanish settlement built in Costa Rica’s Central Valley, in 1561. Today it is among the most contemporary neighborhoods in Costa Rica with scattered trimmings of antique and boutique villages. That said, Santa Ana real estate has become extremely desirable by both nationals and foreigners. Santa Ana is similar to its neighbor Escazu, a tropical location sitting 3900 feet from sea level; however, different in many ways. Santa Ana’s climate is slightly warmer; the community is smaller and still retains a fair amount of its rural and Spanish heritage.
